So I have decided to write a blog… basically it is because I am so passionate about what I do. I have so many hints and tips of looking good, from working in the fashion and beauty industry for years; I want to share but a few of them. It is all about making the best of what you’ve got, my grandma always used to say “Cleo, if you’ve got it flaunt it!” So I did and that’s how I got where I am today!
Take this from a woman who has been described as an Ugly duckling that turned into a swan! Yes believe me, at the time I was mortified and quite upset. However, after looking at the photographic evidence, it suggests that she may have, quite possibly, been correct!
Looking good isn’t easy. There are people out there who you think are such natural beauties, with perfect skin, hair and nails. Generally, they tend to appear on the cover of glossy magazines and often have been airbrushed to hell! For us normal girls that eat cake and wake up with a spot just when we don’t want it, we too are beautiful women. There will be something about you that you do like. In fact I guarantee it. You might have a fantastic pair of boobs (big is beautiful, so long as you’re wearing a good bra and they are not down to your knees!) an amazing set of pins, a bottom like a little ripe peach, a beautiful décolleté or a stunning face? There will be something that when you look in the mirror, you think actually it’s not so bad. So that’s the part we focus on! By accentuating the positive aspects of your body, we naturally play down the negative characteristic we don’t like (normally the parts of your body used for the storage of fat!) We can’t change Mother Nature but we certainly can disguise her!
As an Image Consultant, my job is all about making women realise that they are beautiful and that they need to show this off, irrespective of size, age, or lifestyle. Embracing what you have and learning to love it will make you so much happier. Once again, looking good isn’t easy, it’s the stylish ones that ask for the help, and it is my job to show them how!
